South Italy is still under- investigated from the point of view of the reconstruction of Sacred Spaces. Furthermore, it highlights the lack of complex methodologies that take into consideration the interactions between space, image and ritual performance. The project aims at investigating how forms and concepts of sacred space were created in Medieval South Italy within a broader European and Mediterranean context.
